Notice of Privacy Practices for Website Visitors and Inquirers · Titan Recovery Center
This Privacy Policy describes how Titan Recovery Center collects, uses, shares, and protects information about visitors to losangelesdetoxandrehab.com and people who contact us about our services. This Policy reflects our commitments under the California Consumer Privacy Act (“CCPA”) as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (“CPRA”), the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (“TCPA”), the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (“COPPA”), and other applicable federal and state privacy laws.
I. Important: Privacy Policy vs. HIPAA Notice of Privacy Practices
This Policy applies to information collected through this website and through general inquiries — for example, when you fill out a contact form, request an insurance verification, browse our pages, or place a phone call to our admissions line.
This Policy does not govern the protected health information (“PHI”) of patients enrolled in treatment at Titan Recovery Center. PHI is covered by the federal Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (“HIPAA”) and, because we are a federally assisted substance use disorder program, by 42 CFR Part 2 — a stricter standard than HIPAA. The handling of PHI is described separately in our HIPAA Policy.
If you are unsure which policy applies to a particular type of information, our default is to apply whichever standard offers greater privacy. For any inquiry about Los Angeles detox services, our admissions team is available 24/7 at (747) 292-7904.
II. Information We Collect
We collect information in three ways:
Information you provide directly
When you fill out a contact form, request an insurance verification, sign up to receive information about our inpatient detox or residential treatment programs, or otherwise reach out to us, you may provide:
- Your name and the name of any third party (family member, referring clinician, employer assistance program contact) reaching out on your behalf;
- Phone number, email, and mailing address;
- Substance use concerns, treatment history, or other clinical context you choose to share;
- Insurance carrier and policy information for benefits verification;
- Preferred time, method, and topic of contact.
Information collected automatically
When you visit losangelesdetoxandrehab.com, our servers automatically collect:
- IP address and approximate location derived from it;
- Browser type, operating system, and device characteristics;
- Referring URL and pages visited within our site;
- Date, time, and duration of visit;
- Aggregated analytics data through services such as Google Analytics.
Information from third parties
We may receive information about you from:
- Referring physicians, treatment facilities, or interventionists you have authorized;
- Insurance carriers, during benefit verification with your consent;
- Family members, employers, or court-appointed representatives, where you have authorized such contact.
III. How We Use Your Information
We use information for the following purposes:
- To respond to your inquiry and provide the information you requested;
- To verify your insurance benefits and discuss treatment options;
- To facilitate admission to our facility if you choose to enter treatment;
- To communicate with you about admission status, scheduling, and pre-arrival details;
- To send you educational content about addiction treatment and recovery — only if you opt in;
- To improve our website, services, and outreach materials through aggregated analytics;
- To meet legal, regulatory, and accreditation obligations, including Joint Commission requirements;
- To prevent fraud, abuse, and unauthorized access to our systems.
Once you are admitted as a patient, your information becomes PHI and is handled under our HIPAA Policy and 42 CFR Part 2, not under this Policy.
IV. Cookies and Tracking Technologies
Our website uses cookies and similar tracking technologies. We group these into four categories:
Strictly necessary cookies keep the website functional — they manage sessions, remember your form inputs as you complete them, and allow basic security. You cannot opt out of these without breaking the site.
Functional cookies remember preferences such as accessibility settings or previously selected options.
Analytics cookies — primarily Google Analytics — help us understand which pages are visited, how long people stay, and what content is useful. The data is aggregated; we do not use Google Analytics to identify individual visitors.
Marketing cookies may be used by our advertising partners (such as Google Ads and Meta) to measure the effectiveness of our outreach and, where applicable, retarget visitors with educational content. These are disclosed and require your consent under CCPA/CPRA where applicable.
You can manage cookies through your browser settings or through any cookie banner that appears on your first visit. Disabling certain cookies may affect site functionality.
V. Sharing and Disclosure of Information
We share information only as follows:
With service providers under written contracts that require them to protect your information and use it only for the services they provide to us. Examples include hosting, email delivery, analytics, insurance verification, and electronic medical record systems.
For legal and regulatory reasons — when required by law, court order, regulatory subpoena, or government investigation, or when necessary to protect the safety of patients, staff, or the public.
With your consent — including to family members, referring clinicians, or other parties you have authorized us to communicate with.
In a business transfer — if Titan Recovery Center merges with, is acquired by, or sells substantially all of its assets to another entity, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you of any change in ownership or control.
We do not sell PHI. We do not sell information about patients in treatment. Where website analytics or marketing data may qualify as “sale” or “sharing” under California law, you have the right to opt out — see Section VII below.
VI. Phone Calls and Text Messages (TCPA Notice)
When you provide your phone number on a form or during a call, you authorize Titan Recovery Center and authorized representatives to contact you at that number to discuss treatment options, scheduling, insurance verification, and admission. This may include phone calls, text messages, and pre-recorded voice messages.
You can opt out of marketing calls or texts at any time:
- Reply STOP to any text message;
- Tell the caller you wish to be removed from the list;
- Email privacy@thetitanrecovery.com requesting removal.
Standard message and data rates may apply. Opting out of marketing communications does not prevent us from contacting you about an active treatment relationship, billing, or legally required notices.
You are never required to consent to marketing communications as a condition of receiving treatment.
VII. Your California Privacy Rights (CCPA & CPRA)
If you are a California resident, you have the following rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act:
Right to Know. You may request that we disclose the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you, the categories of sources, the business or commercial purpose for collecting, and the categories of third parties with whom we share it.
Right to Delete. You may request that we delete personal information we have collected from you, subject to legal exceptions — for example, information we must retain for clinical record-keeping under California law or HIPAA.
Right to Correct. You may request that we correct inaccurate personal information.
Right to Opt Out of Sale or Sharing. You may direct us not to “sell” or “share” your personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. We do not sell PHI under any circumstances. To exercise this right for non-PHI data, use the “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information” link in our website footer, or email privacy@thetitanrecovery.com.
Right to Limit Use of Sensitive Personal Information. California recognizes certain categories as “sensitive personal information” — including health information, precise geolocation, and Social Security numbers. You may request that we limit our use of such information to the purposes necessary to provide services to you.
Right to Non-Discrimination. We will not deny services, charge different prices, or provide a lower level of service because you have exercised any of these rights.
How to exercise your rights
Submit a request by email to privacy@thetitanrecovery.com or by calling (747) 292-7904. We will respond within 45 days, with one possible 45-day extension if needed. We may need to verify your identity before fulfilling certain requests — typically by matching information you provide against our records.
Authorized agents
You may designate an authorized agent to submit a request on your behalf. The agent must provide written authorization signed by you, and we may require verification directly from you.
Sensitive Personal Information we may collect
Information you provide about your health condition, including substance use; precise geolocation if you grant location access; and similar protected categories where you affirmatively provide them.
VIII. Children’s Privacy
Our website is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Treatment-related inquiries about minors (ages 12–17) must be initiated by a parent, legal guardian, or authorized representative. If you believe we have collected information from a child under 13 in violation of COPPA, contact privacy@thetitanrecovery.com and we will delete it.
IX. Data Security and Retention
We use administrative, physical, and technical safeguards designed to protect information against loss, misuse, and unauthorized access. No internet transmission or electronic storage is perfectly secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
We retain information only as long as needed for the purposes described in this Policy or as required by law. Inquiry data not resulting in admission is generally retained for up to three years; clinical records of patients enrolled in treatment are retained under HIPAA and California medical records retention requirements for the periods those laws specify (typically a minimum of seven years). Records from your engagement with our Los Angeles rehab and detox services are protected under both this Policy and our HIPAA Policy throughout the entire retention period.
X. Third-Party Links
Our website may contain links to third-party sites — for example, the HHS Office for Civil Rights complaint portal, accreditation bodies, or educational resources. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of third-party sites; review their privacy policies independently.
XI. Changes to This Notice
We may update this Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected in the Last Reviewed date at the top of this page, and where required by law, we will provide additional notice through our website or by direct communication.
